4 Things To Include In A Bathroom Remodel

Are you gearing up to remodel your bathroom, but need some ideas to really improve the space? Here are some things that you'll want to include in a bathroom remodel.

Heated Floors

Radiant floor heating is an incredibly comfortable way to make a room warm. However, you are going to especially notice this in a bathroom when you step out onto the tile floor after getting out of the shower. It is possible to put radiant heat in just one room of your home by using electric heating cables. It's different than using hydronic radiant heat, but the electric version can be retrofitted to any room of the home.

Some people love having the in-floor heating attached to a timer, where they can turn it on for a short amount of time to shower and then it turns off automatically. Since it is only supplemental heat to add to your comfort, it doesn't need to be on all the time.

Curbless Shower

There are many reasons to install a curbless shower in your home. They not only look modern, but they can be incredibly practical too. A curbless shower is going to make your shower much more accessible as you get older. No curb to step over means that you can fit a walker into the shower if necessary, making the space handicap-friendly.

Shower Stall Cutouts

There should be no reason to place movable shelving or hanging baskets in your shower to hold all of your soaps when the space is finished. Consider adding shower stall cutouts that are essentially recessed shelves that don't stick out into the shower. They are practical and elegant, and can only be installed when remodeling a bathroom.

Half Wall Height Tile

Tile doesn't need to stay on the floor, since it can be extended to go up the wall. Having half wall height tile can be a great addition to a bathroom since it helps keep the space clean and looks modern. Make sure that you plan ahead by having the tile on hand before you start your flooring project. You'll want to make sure that you have enough tile to go up the sides of the bathroom walls, and that the materials blend in nicely.
